Health and Safety

Hanoar Hatzioni’s leaders go through intensive leadership training both internally and with external organisations. They are selected for their energy, knowledge, skills with children, and their high awareness of health and safety.

Participants are asked not to bring on camp any food products that may contain nuts as we run a nut free camp for the safety of our participants with life threatening allergies.

Medical Care

Cambridgeshire based Event Paramedics Ltd have provided medical services to our camps for what will now be the 3rd year running. Rick Player, Managing Director, and a Senior State Registered Paramedic Practitioner; has remained as our personal camp medic. This has helped greatly as he now knows the majority of the participants and staff on a first-name basis, and has become familiar with all the Hanoar routines!

Rick, 41, (a proud new granddad!) lives with his family near Cambridge. He works alongside G.P.’s and Emergency Doctors and in his role as a State Registered Practitioner is able to prescribe (under PGD guidelines) antibiotics and other medications including all emergency drugs, and make autonomous referrals to GP’s and other specialists when necessary.

Although camp ‘medical’ life tends thankfully to be uneventful, we do now have some children with severe Asthma and potentially life-threatening allergies who attend. We believe therefore that our move away from first-aid, to Advanced Paramedic Practitioner level will offer reassurance to parents and enhance the general medical well being of all at camp.
