Structure of Camp

Our camps involve a combination of outdoor activities, sports, arts and crafts, social activities, free time and educational sessions on the chosen theme of camp. During the day the children are split into different groups depending on their school year but there are many points throughout the day when the groups mix together.

Outlined below is an in depth explanation of the structure and activities which make up Hanoar Hatzioni camps.

Misdar and Mifkad (Morning/ Evening meeting)

At the beginning and end of every day we bring all of the groups together. This is one of te times where the entire camp is together and provides us with the opporunity to review the day's activities. During this time we are also able to bring keep our participants updated with the structure of the day and any changes to the day's programme.

Meal Times

Due to the size of Summer Camp participants eat breakfast together and then lunch and dinner with their respective year group. This means that participants can receive food at the same time and eat together. On Shabbat, to ensure that we keep that family atomsphere of Hanoar Hatzioni we ensure that all meals on Shabbat are eaten together.

Themed Programmes

On every camp we have an educational theme running throughout. Every camp has a different theme, they all however explore a range of topics related to Israel, Judaism and Social Issues. Our leaders are informal educators who are able to engage our participants in a range of issues using fun and informative methods. We are a pluralist youth movement and therefore provide an environment where participants are able to express and form their own opinions in a non-judgmental and open framweork.

Va'ad Programmes

Va'ad programmes are a much anticipated feature of Hanoar Hatzioni camps. They are large scale light and sound productions the youth leaders organise for the children. Whereas most Themed Programmes will be run in the smaller groups of up to 20 children, here we can bring age groups together for a range of activities from interactive wide games, to discos and theatre shows.

Hanoar Hatzioni provides Cultural, Reform, Masorti and Orthodox Services. Our Shabbat policy is that the public space should be an environment where everybody can feel comfortable, but in their private space, participants may keep Shabbat as they see fit.
