Structure of Camp
Hanoar Hatzioni camps involve a combination of outdoor activities, sports, arts and crafts, social activities, free time and educational sessions on the chosen theme of camp. During the day the children are split into different groups depending on their school year (Click here for more information on our group structure). There are many points throughout the day when the groups mix together and enjoy each others company.
Outlined below is an in depth explanation of the structur and activities which make up Hanoar Hatzioni camps.
Misdar and Mifkad (Daily Morning/ Evening get together)
At the beginning and end of every day every age group on camp comes together for to hear about each others days. During this time we provide our participants with updates and changes to the days programme.
Meal Times
As our Spring and Winter Camps are smaller in size we are able to have the whole of camp eat together. On Summer Camp participants eat breakfast together and then lunch and dinner with their year group. During Shabbat the whole of camp eats together. We want to enhance our family atmosphere and give participanst the opportunity to meet individuals from other age groups. Therefore whenever possible all of camp will eat togethe.
Themed Programmes
On every camp we have an educational theme running throughout. Every camp has a different theme, they all however explore a range of topics related to either Israel, Judaism or Social Issues. Our leaders are informal educators who are able to engage our participants in a range of issues using fun and informative methods. We are pluralist youth movement and therefore provide an environment where participants are able to express and form their own opinions in a non-judgmental and open framweork.
Va'ad programmes
Va'ad programmes are a daily feature of Hanoar Hatzioni camps. They are large scale light and sound productions the youth leaders organise for the children. Programmes can range from interactive wide games, to discos and theatre shows.
